Connector used on a number of models of Dell laptops containing composite video, S-video, and S/PDIF connections.

Pin Name
1 GND Y Ground
2 GND C Ground
3 Y S-Video Luminance (Y)
4 C S-Video Chrominance (C) / Pb
5 (sens) Wire to Gnd to enable pin 7 S/PDIF (Inspirion, M90, XPS)
6 VIDEO Composite Video / Pr
7 GND S/PDIF Data (when enabled)

Pins 1, 2, and the shell are shorted together. It's worth noting that the assignments of pins 1-4 correspond directly to those of S-video. This pinout comes from a dell adapter labeled 044CTV (confirmed to work with a Dell Inspiron 7500), tested using a multimeter.

On the following Dell models, pin 7 will output S/PDIF when pin 5 is shorted to Gnd :-

     Inspiron (6400, 640m, 9400, E1405, E1505, E1705, XPS M1710), Precision WorkStation M90 and XPS (M1210, M1710 M1730).

On the D/DOCK, the S/PDIF is permanently enabled at the RCA socket (and not output on the DIN socket pin 7)

Pins 3, 4, 6 are used for HD TV in YPbPr mode, tested on a Inspiron 1720 in full HD.
